Value-added services and contract manufacturing
Contract manufacturing, VAS and customization
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered
Whether your business operates in e-commerce, B2B, D2C, or any other sector, there will always be moments when you need extra support. Often, these are tasks that fall outside the standard logistics flow or parts you want to separate from the main process to create a more tailored solution.
We call this contract work, but it could just as well be referred to as refinement services. The international term is value-added services, or VAS.
For many years, we’ve had a dedicated department focused exclusively on VAS. This team primarily supports clients who require ongoing VAS as part of their logistics operations. For one-off tasks, all our sites are equipped to handle VAS assignments.
The most common types of work include repackaging, relabeling, additional quality checks, or similar tasks that may be overlooked during production.
And rest assured, challenges will arise, but whatever you need, we’ll find the solution together.

Don’t believe us?
Here are a few real-life examples where things got a little wild—and we found creative solutions together:
- A shipment of frying pans, meant as Christmas gifts, arrived late at our warehouse. The only solution? We loaded up our own transport van and personally handed them out in the town square of Falun.
- Our client sold out of all concert t-shirts on the first night of Metallica’s two-night show in Copenhagen. On Saturday, we were tasked with repackaging hundreds of shirts and shortly after, our van was on its way to the venue.
- Sweden unexpectedly advanced in the tournament, and our client needed 1,000 inflated merchandise balls delivered before the next match, just 24 hours later. We pumped, packed, and delivered every single one. Right on time!
What is VAS?
Value added services (VAS) refer to additional services or enhancements that a company offers beyond its core product or service. These can include features such as improved quality, personalization, faster delivery, or other elements that elevate the customer experience. The purpose of VAS is to differentiate your business from competitors and increase customer satisfaction, loyalty, and profitability, by offering a more complete and unique experience to your customers.
Examples of value added services
Here are some examples of what value added services (VAS) can include within logistics and third-party fulfillment:
Kitting and assembly
Combining multiple components into a complete unit. For example, assembling a full bicycle by combining the frame, wheels, brakes, and pedals.
Personalization
Offering customers the ability to customize products based on preferences such as color, size, or material. This is especially relevant for apparel, furniture, or electronics.
Seasonal customization
Creating special packages, promotions, or campaigns for holidays and seasonal events, such as Christmas gift sets or summer sales bundles.
Detailed product information
Providing comprehensive product data, including descriptions, technical specifications, and user manuals. This helps customers make informed decisions and increases satisfaction.
Repair and maintenance
Offering repair and maintenance services to extend the product lifespan and enhance the overall customer experience.
Installation and configuration
Providing setup and configuration services for products like tech devices or furniture, making it easier for customers and improving usability.
Special handling of returns and exchanges
Managing complex or high-touch return and exchange processes with care and efficiency. This strengthens customer loyalty and improves brand perception.
